My name is Oyomi.
Of course this is not my real name, but it is my Japanese nickname. My real name is very popular for Americans, so I have many friends who just call me by me Japanese name.
I am a punk rock anime lover. I love to wear punk, scene, emo, rock, and gothic style clothing. In high school, I was very much like an otaku, but more in the American sense of the word, not the Japanese definition. Now I am less into anime, but I still read manga often.
My SO is demisexual. In my opinion, if you know what this means, great; if not, don’t worry about it.
I was born on October 4th.
I have two dogs. They are both small dogs named Max and Captain.
Hobby: Reading manga, watching anime, listening to music, playing badminton, drawing (and using screen-tones), playing computer games, doing various things on the computer, and going to different places in Japan.
I listen to pretty much all types of music. The only type I don’t really like is reggae.
Currently I am an exchange student in Japan. I am living in Japan for one year (August 2016 – August 2017)
I was interning with the Department of Contemporary English (DCE) at Ibaraki Christian University along with 5 other interns during the summer of 2015. It was a three month program.
Most of my posts will be from these two times, but I have been to Japan two times prior.
The first time was in the summer of 2012. I was in Japan for one month learning how to make manga and anime, and a little bit of language classes. For each thing I was learning, the program had us go to different cities. I wish I too more notes so I could write about it, but that is not the case. I didn’t even take many photos because I don’t really like feeling like a tourist, but now that I have been in Japan for so long, I just want to explore.
The second time was in April of 2013. It was a 10 day exchange trip with my school. It was a super fast trip and was not very enjoyable, but I wanted to go because Japan is my favorite place. I performed at a school while I was there, but other than that, nothing eventful happened.
Although the posts may not be posted in order, nor will they be posted the day after I went to these places, they will all be my opinions about the things I have seen and done while living in Japan.
Feel free to ask me questions.
